Helpful advice on messages for your tutor
  • Speak up. Speak clearly and slowly.
  • Identify yourself using your first name and last name.
  • Specify the date of your message.
  • Ensure that your question is clear and properly formulated.
  • Identify two potential dates/times within the coming days that your tutor will be sure to reach you, should they call (no weekends, and no calls between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. during the week).
  • Leave an area code and phone number where your tutor can reach you (no beepers please, and ensure that your answering machine/service is activated when you are not available).
  • If you follow these instructions you can expect a response from your tutor within two business days.
